About
I grew up running the halls of Brookhaven National Laboratory. It was my introduction to the promise of technology. Progress, a brighter tomorrow just beyond the hill, if you have the nerve to climb it.
As an adult I became very interested in the systems that govern our lives. Bureaucracy, as military technology and a force that shapes society. I started to wonder why the tools that are supposed to make us productive also make us feel so hollow, so inhuman. Does it have to be that way?
My answer is no. There's a better way. We can talk to computers now, and that matters a lot. I've spent most of my career improving the technology that governs systems. Now I'm building something new.
I am drawn to things that take a long time to master. I like the feeling of diving into something impossibly deep, only to discover that was the shallow end.
I'm based in Chinatown, NYC, and studied at Columbia, where I was a terrible student. I never could sit still for long.
A few things I've done

Now I'm building Knowhow.
Before that I led technology at Formula.Monks, running a 200-plus-person team that built enterprise software for some of the world's largest financial-services firms.
For a stretch I worked on my own as a consulting engineer and an advisor to early-stage startups.
Earlier I was CTO at Urby, an innovative commercial real estate developer, where I started and scaled the technology team.
